Akin Konizi (four-time winner of hairdresser of the year) explains how to style curly hair with the Dyson hair dryer’s diffuser attachment.
Chloe Myers is one of our research scientists behind the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer. In this video, hair scientist meets hairdresser to experience the diffuser attachment in the hands of a hair styling expert.
Engineered to disperse air evenly around each of your ringlets, the diffuser simulates natural drying.
Akin explains he prefers to use the diffuser attachment on the lowest heat setting, with the lowest velocity of airflow, to avoid disturbing the natural definition of curls while drying.
The trick, he says, is to avoid brushing and do as little as possible with your hands, simply letting the diffuser tool do its job.
About the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer:
Hair dryer design hasn’t really changed since the 1960s. Most manufacturers still use large, bulky motors that only fit in the head of the product.
We knew there had to be a different way. We assembled a team of specialists to re-think the conventional hair dyer – inside and out.
We started by constructing our own hair laboratory within our Research and Development facility in Malmesbury. The equipment we needed didn’t exist – so we designed and built it.
After years of research, design and development, the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer was born, complete with magnetic styling attachments for easy fitting and rotation.
